JoDene nee Hollern Nall was born at home on January 31, 1931, in Centralia, Illinois, to Evelyn nee Duty and Arthur “Art” Hollern. She attended St. Mary Catholic Grade School and Centralia Township High School, graduating in 1949. She married William “Bill” W. Nall, Jr., on June 3, 1950. Together, they had three sons: Stephen “Steve” (Vickie) Nall, Arthur “Art” (Melissa) Nall, and V. Rev. James Nall, JCL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandsons Mike (Kristin) Nall, Scott (Shanti) Nall, Alex (fiancée Cheli) Nall, and her great-grandchildren, Will and Emmalee, Riise and Emmett. She is also survived by a brother, John Hollern.
Faith, family, and community were important to JoDene. She was a lifelong, active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia, having sewn many articles for the sanctuary, sang in the choir (she was the oldest member), elected to the first parish council, member of the Altar Society, cemetery committee, and Mary’s Merry Quilters. She loved her family, which can only be felt as words are inadequate. Her community involvement included being a proud supporter of the Centralia Orphans Boys Basketball Team, an address chair for the CTHS Class of ’49, singing in the Cultural Society Chorus, a seamstress for many plays for the Cultural Society, the CCA Food Pantry, and knitting and crocheting items for the pregnancy care center.
A Visitation for JoDene Nall will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Centralia. Memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic School or CCBA Food Pantry.
