Breese Central came out shooting last night, playing in front of their home crowd for the only time before January, the Cougars made 13 three pointers on their way to a 59-35 win over Salem to open the Cahokia Conference for both teams.  Breese only made 6 more field goals than Salem on the night, but the 13-2 disparity in three point shooting was the difference.  Salem was led by Avery Gullion with 12 points and 6 rebounds, Payton Gullion also had 12 points.  Kaeden Bevolo pulled down 8 rebounds. Salem is 3-3 and will host Nashville on Tuesday night as the Hornets beat Vienna 66-50 last night.

The Salem freshmen play today at home against Mater Dei.

The Centralia Orphans improved to 5-0 with a road win at Althoff 70-41.  Centralia will play their first home game of the season tonight at Trout Arena when they host Mattoon.
