The Centralia Orphans have won the Roxana Hoopsgiving Tournament for the 5th straight year as they dispatched of University City last night 77-41. Tournament MVP Archie Goewey led Centralia with 17. Devin Meier and Kenny Bratton, who also made the All Tournament Team, finished with 13 and 12 respectively and Jaxson Hancock added 10. The Orphans travel to Althoff on Friday and then will host Mattoon for their home opener Saturday night.
In the other game played, Roxana beat Carbondale 58-49 in the 5th place game.
The Goreville Invitational continues tonight as Hardin County takes on Harrisburg at 6pm followed by Anna Jonesboro and Benton.
At the Kaskaskian in Carlyle tonight, Woodlawn takes on Riverview Gardens followed by Pinckneyville and Hillsboro. Last night, Woodlawn beat Okawville 59-49 and Pinckneyville knocked off Carlyle 64-56.
At the Hamilton County Tournament, Wayne City over Edwards County 73-65, West Frankfort 52-40 over NCOE and Hamilton County beat Gallatin County 56-30.
