Roy Hart, age 79, of Centralia, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Centralia. He was born on December 31, 1945, in Centralia, to James D. Hart and Edna (Robinson) Hart. He married Patricia Robertson on November 19, 1966, in Centralia, and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2025, after 58 years of marriage.
Roy is survived by his loving children, Roy Hart, Jr. and wife Angie of Hoffman, and James Hart and wife Mary of Centralia. He loved being a grandfather and shared a special bond with his grandkids: Hayley Hart of Terre Haute, Indiana, Trenton Hart of Glen Carbon, Sydney Hart of Hoffman, Carsen Hart of Centralia, and Colten Hart of Centralia.
He will also be remembered by his sisters-in-law and spouses: Ty Bone and husband Bob of Centralia, Deb Bourland of Ina, Holly Johnson and husband Harold of Centralia, Winnie Weemer and husband Don of Odin, Belinda Ford of Centralia, and Candy Miller and husband Curtis of Glenridge. Also mourning his loss are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Pat; brother, Marlin Hart and wife, Shelvia; sister, Mary Meier and husband, Charlie; sister-in-law, Jackie Hodge; brothers-in-law, Sam Bourland and Morris Ford; and niece, Carol Arbing.
Roy was known for his love of motorcycles. He owned and operated Hart’s Motorcycle Repair Shop for many years, where his customers and friends loved to sit and visit. Roy devoted much of his life to the sport of motorcycle racing. He was especially proud that this year, his son James was named Tuner of the Year for the 2025 Supertwins Class in the AFT Series. Roy also took great pride in his grandkids.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Fouts Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Back on Track Racer Recovery.
