Four people were injured in a two-car crash on East Main Street in front of Salem Bowl early Wednesday evening.
Salem Police say 48-year-old Lori Arnold of Apple Road in Iuka was traveling eastbound on Main and made a left hand turn into Salem Bowl in front of a westbound car driven by 18-year-old Tanner Ruscher of North Broadway in Salem. The two cars collided nearly head on. The Ruscher vehicle came to rest in the ditch on the north side of the road. The Arnold vehicle spun around and stopped in the roadway.
Both drivers along with a passenger in each vehicle were taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. A 16-year-old Iuka juvenile boy was a passenger in the Arnold vehicle. 18-year-old Frank Podergois of US 50 in Salem was a passenger in the Ruscher car.
Arnold was given a ticket for failure to yield turning left.
The Salem Fire Protection District was also called to the scene, but there was no entrapment.
The crash was reported at 4:52 Wednesday evening.
