All three occupants of a pickup truck were injured Saturday evening when the truck ran off the Route 161 Extension east of Route 37 when the driver swerved to miss a deer.

The truck driven by a 16-year-old male Centralia juvenile overturned after leaving the road.  Initial reports indicate there was entrapment, but Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say all three were out of the vehicle upon their arrival.

In addition to the driver, both passengers were injured.  They were identified as 24-year-old Tanner Martens of Wild Turkey Road in Venedy and 50-year-old Thomas Meredith of Janet Road in rural Odin.  The three were all transported by United Medical Response to an area hospital for treatment.

Both Kell and Salem firefighters were also called to the scene.

The crash occurred at 7:13 Saturday evening.
