This is the final day to register for the Centralia Community Youth Center and WJBD Radio Adopt-a-Family program.
Forms are available at the Centralia Community Youth Center from noon to five and at the Bryan Bennett Library from nine to two. You must provide SNAP or LINK benefits proof.
You can help in one of three ways. Request to adopt a family or child and buy and wrap gifts for selected families and deliver them to WJBD or the Centralia Youth Center by Friday, December 5th. Make a financial donation for a family, and volunteer shoppers will purchase gifts. You may also donate new toys. The program suggests an allotment of $75 to $150 per child assisted, depending on age. This usually consists of a warm outfit and a couple of toys.
Families and children are now available for adoption. If you want to adopt a family and shop for your family, or make a cash donation, you can call 532-6530.
The ‘Adopt-A-Family’ Christmas program strives to reach the families with the most need. The program targets those making strides towards self-sufficiency. Over the last 27 years, community generosity has helped provide a memorable Christmas for thousands of children from thousands of households.
