A pull behind travel trailer was destroyed by fire in the 300 block of West Kerr in Centralia Tuesday afternoon.
Centralia Firefighters say the occupant Alan Phillips told them he was smoking when he fell asleep and woke up to find the camper on fire. Phillips got out safely. The camper was destroyed.
The fire was hot enough to melt siding on the nearby home of Cheryl Phillips and had also melted paint and molding on a nearby car which was saved from burning.
The fire call came in at 12:35 Tuesday afternoon. Firemen were on the scene for about an hour. No additional firemen had to be called in.
