A four-person race for the circuit wide judgeship in the 4th Judicial Circuit highlights filings at the State Board of Elections for the March primary election. Those running for the seat are Wesley Gozia of Salem, Phillip Givens of Louisville, Aaron Jones of Effingham and Brenda Mathis of Ramsey. Residents in all nine counties that make up the fourth judicial circuit will vote on the judge candidates. There are no Democratic candidates.
The only other contested primary race is for 109th District Representative where Republican incumbent Charlie Meier faces Republican challenger Zachary Meyer of Aviston.
110th District State Representative Blaine Wilhour has no opposition.
Congressman Mike Bost will not have a primary opponent, with Julie Fortier of O’Fallon filing on the Democratic ticket.
Republican John Consolino of Salem is the only candidate to file for Clinton-Jefferson-Marion-Washington County Regional Superintendent of Schools. Current Regional Superintendent Matt Renaud is planning to retire.
