In 3a regional championships, Centralia will try to upset the #1 ranked team in Illinois as they travel to Mt Vernon to take on Mater Dei starting at 6pm.
Chatham takes on Triad at Jerseyville and Waterloo will host Mascoutah, while at Mt Zion the hosts take on Taylorville.
In 2a, Effingham will host TTown, Breese Central and Nashville play from Greenville, Newton and Carmi play at Hamilton County, Benton plays Fairfield at Mt Carmel, Paris is the sight for Shelbyville and Pana. Red Bud will host Belleville Althoff, DuQuoin takes on Massac County at Vienna and from Virden, Hillsboro plays Staunton, Murphysboro plays Carterville at Herrin and at Roxana it’s Columbia against Father McGivney.
The SC Lady Cougars dropped their Class 1a Regional semifinal at St Elmo, falling to Okawville 25-18, 25-22 to finish their season 15-15. The Lady Rockets advance to the finals to get the host as St Elmo/Brownstown beat CHBC in the other semifinal.
Christ Our Rock’s season came to an end as they lost to Nokomis in the regional semifinal 25-18, 25-15 at Nokomis. The hosts advance to play Carlyle in the finals after their win over North Clay 25-16, 25-11.
Also in 1a action last night, Casey beat Lawrenceville, NCOE eliminated Woodlawn, Marissa over Mt Olive, Gibault beat Maryville Christian, Steeleville over Sparta and Windsor over Tuscola.
Tonight in regional 1a finals, Casey hosts Arthur, Marissa at home against Gibault. At Sparta, Steeleville plays Goreville and Windsor hosts Oblong.
