A vacant home in St. Peter that was being remodeled was destroyed in an early Thursday morning fire.

St. Peter Fire Chief Kevin Jenne says the home in the 100 block of West 4th had flames showing from both an upstairs and downstairs window when they arrived on the scene just after three am.  The fire eventually burned through the roof.

A State Deputy Fire Marshal will investigate the cause of the fire.

There were no injuries.

St. Peter Firemen received mutual aid assistance on the scene from Farina, Brownstown, and St. Elmo Firemen, while Kinmundy-Alma and Edgewood firemen stood by at the St. Peter Fire Station in the event of another fire.

Firemen were on the scene for about two and a half hours.
