The Salem Recreation Department is holding its traditional Halloween Costume Contest on Friday evening at the Salem Community Theatre.
Salem Recreation Director Jed Casburn says gift cards will be given to the winners.
“We ask everybody to be there and registered by 5:30 so that we can start the contest and get everybody out for Trick or Treat from 6:00 to 8:00,” Casburn said. “We’re going to have four categories as usual; we’re going to have 3 years and younger, we’re going to have 4 to 7, 8 to 12, and best family categories, and we’re going to place first second and third in each of those categories.”
Trick or Treat in Salem, Odin, Alma, Kinmundy, and Farina will then be held from six to eight Friday night for those 12 and under.
