The Village of Sandoval is preparing to celebrate the 4th annual Homecoming Street Fair on the day of Trick or Treat, Friday, October 24. The grade school and high school will be dismissed before 1:00 p.m. Grade school students and parade participants will arrive at the grade school at 2:30 p.m., and the parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. If the parade is rained out, it will be postponed to next week.
The vendor fair will be open from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Commercial Street. A Chili supper will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., and Trick or Treat will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
At the regular village board meeting on Tuesday night, the board accepted a bid from Sandoval Township to purchase a property on Wisconsin Street for $4,001.50. The board also agreed to put up for bid properties at 403 South Maple, 207 East Isle, and a property on Fayette with no address.
The board approved a modified right-of-way agreement with Conxxus permitting the installation of fiber in Sandoval with the stipulation that exceptions can be made to the required installation depth of three feet in the event that an obstruction makes that requirement infeasible.
A Sandoval High School student council fundraising event was approved to be held in the park on October 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., but the board did not approve a street closure for a Trunk-or-Treat as part of that event.
