A 33-year-old Salem man has been charged in Marion County Court with two counts of felony aggravated assault after allegedly swerving his car towards a Salem Police car that was attempting to stop him following a domestic altercation at his home.
Troy Grantham of Lynwood Drive was accused of the action while driving on Hardacre Road after leaving a domestic dispute at his home. Police were arriving as he was driving away and followed to question him. Grantham later stopped without further incident at a parking lot of a North Broadway business.
The alleged victim of the domestic disturbance declined to press charges in connection with the incident.
Grantham was released on pretrial conditions following his first appearance in court Monday afternoon. A public defender was appointed to represent him.
