A rural Walnut Hill mobile home and two small storage sheds were destroyed in a late Thursday afternoon fire that resulted from an unattended fire spread by increased winds.
The fire was at the Thomas Pruett property at 23710 North Post Oak Lane south of Walnut Hill in Jefferson County. Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says the fire also burned three acres of brush and woods and damaged the front of a vehicle parked close to the mobile home.
There were no injuries.
Centralia City, Kell, and Irvington Firemen provided mutual aid at the scene while Sandoval stood by at the Centralia District Station and handled two illegal burns.
A burn ban is in effect for all fire departments in Marion County and the portion in the Centralia Fire Protection District in other counties.
