The Salem Community High School Marching Band swept the 2A competition at the Mt. Zion Marching Music Games over the weekend.
Director John Randolph says in addition to being the Class 2A Field Competition Champion, they took first places in music, visual, general effect, percussion, drum majors, and color guard.
There were six schools in their division at Mt. Zion.
The bands last field competition will be on October 25th at the Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival held at Belleville West.
If Salem is successful at the St. Louis Marching Band Festival in sweeping their class, they will end the season undefeated. That’s something Randolph said the band has never done during his time in Salem.
