A 54-year-old Salem man faces six new felony drug charges following the execution of a search warrant at his home last Friday, when he was not home.
Larry Woodward of 221 South Marshall was charged with three Class X offenses for alleged possession with intent to deliver 100 to 400 grams of methamphetamine, possession of the same amount of the drug, and delivery of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine. All the class X charges require a prison term, with the most serious carrying a prison term of not less than nine years and a maximum of 40 years. He was also charged with three other felony counts, unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon, possession of cocaine, and unauthorized production of eight cannabis plants.
State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth asked Woodward to be held without bond pending further court action, but Judge Stanley Brandmeyer felt conditions could be set to allow Woodward to remain free until his next appearance.
A report submitted to the court indicated containers and baggies with drugs were found throughout the house.
Woodward indicated he would hire is own attorney. He is due back in court on October 29th.
The search warrant was requested for Woodward’s home following a traffic stop on East Main on Thursday night, where the driver was allegedly found in possession of drugs.
