The Salem Lady Wildcats got a rare double varsity win last night when they host East Alton Wood River. Their original game scheduled at Wood River a few weeks ago was canceled due to a maintenance issue, and last night the Lady Oilers came to B.E. Gum for a pair of conference games to make it up. Salem won the first match 25-6, 25-9 and after the Jv win, the varsity won again 25-6, 25-12 to improve to 16-10 on the season. The JV improved to a fantastic 16-3 with their 25-5, 25-10 win.
Also in the Cahokia Conference, Breese Central beat Freeburg and Columbia keeps pace with their win over Roxana.
The Centralia Annies dropped visiting Marion 2 sets to none in a South 7 match up at Trout Arena.
South Central lost to Woodlawn in three sets 25-13, 22-25, 23-25 to fall to 10-13. Sophie Wodtka had a great game on the service line with 13 aces and added 15 assists. Mya Schaal added 8 kills with Bailey Wodtka adding 6.
