“Woodwind Fireworks” is the theme of the Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert on Sunday, October 19. In a program that features the Orchestra’s woodwind section, attendees will have an opportunity to hear, see, and learn about woodwind instruments from around the world.

The Orchestra and woodwind ensembles will perform a variety of popular and classical pieces including “The Magic of Harry Potter”, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, “Sabre Dance” and “Stars and Stripes Forever” that demonstrate the versatility of all these instruments.

Audience members have an opportunity to meet the performers and enjoy complimentary refreshments following the performance. All attendees with paid admission will be eligible for a drawing for free tickets to attend “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis.

The Sunday, October 19 family-focused concert begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Community Arts Center. Regular tickets for the performance are $10 with discounted tickets of $8 for Centralia Cultural Society patrons and $5 for youth, ages 12 and under, also available. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling (618) 532-2951, visiting the CCS website at CentraliaCulturalSociety.org or obtained at the door the day of the performance. Ticketing fees may be applied to credit and debit card purchases.
