Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 47-year-old Wamac woman on a no bond Marion County misdemeanor warrant. Amanda Hunt of South James was taken to the Marion County Jail.
30-year-old Casey Grizzard of Carbondale was arrested by Centralia Police on a no bond St. Clair County warrant.
44-year-old William Thacker, who told police he was homeless, was arrested on an outstanding Fayette County warrant. He was later transported to the Fayette County Jail at Vandalia.
Salem Firemen were called out twice on Thursday. The first call was to a two-vehicle crash at Boone and College around noon. It turned out there were no injuries or entrapment. The second call was to a transformer explosion and small grass fire off the 1200 block of South Washington. A squirrel apparently set off the explosion.
