The Iuka Pirates historic season came to an end at the school’s first ever state baseball game falling to the Steeleville Jr Braves 10-0 in five innings. Iuka’s only hit came from Devan Jennings. Vince Krajefska got the start on the mound and allowed just 3 earned runs. Eli Bookhout got the final 2 outs. Iuka’s season ends at 15-4 and with the school’s first ever regional baseball title.
Also in Class S, Summersville beat Albers 7-5, Galatia over Pope County8-5 and St Joe Olney beat Century 11-5.
In the Class M baseball tournament, St Teresa Belleville beat Zeigler 7-3, Smithton 7-0 over NCOE, St Boniface Edwardsville eliminated Woodlawn 7-3 and Pinckneyville beat Aviston 4-1.
