Willow Grove/St Mary won the rubber match over Selmaville to advance in the Class S state tournament beating the Lady Rockets 11-1. Congratulations to Selmaville on another great season that ended with the school’s first ever regional softball title and trip to state. The Wildcards advance to the state semifinals on Tuesday against Pinckneyville who nipped Galatia 2-1.
Summersville advanced beating St Johns Red Bud 5-0 and they play New Hope after their 10-8 win over Century.
In Class L softball quarterfinals, Carterville shutout Waterloo 10-0, Wolf Branch beat Carlyle 12-0, Central West Frankfort over Trico 13-6 and Flora advanced with a 5-3 win over Marion.
In Class M in Pinckneyville, Dupo nipped Fairfield 2-1, Okawville over Crab Orchard 10-2, Anna continued their dominance as they beat Lebanon 11-0. Ann has won their last 8 games by a combined score of 117-0. They will get Smithton in the semifinals after their 6-4 win over Ziegler.
