The Wildcats final football trip to Breese ended in a 48-13 rout by the host Cougars.  Breese jumped out to a 27-0 lead after the first quarter and led 41-0 in the second before Salem scored their first touchdown, a 56 yard passing touchdown from Kaeden Bevolo to Madden Thompson.  Central would score again before halftime with their lead ballooning to 48-6.  Salem would score in the fourth quarter on a Trey Clark 7 yard touchdown run on their final possession.  Breese sophomore quarterback Owen Kehrer was 10-of-14 for 181 yard and 4 touchdowns in his two quarters of work.

Also in the Cahokia, Salem’s opponent next week for Senior Night, Columbia knocked off Wood River 62-0 and Freeburg earned an important conference win over Roxana 21-19.

 

Olney Ends 60 Year Drought With Home Win Over Aces

Olney beat Mt Carmel 42-26 and is the Tigers first win at home over Mt Carmel since 1965!  The Tigers had wins over the Aces in 72, 78, 82 and last year, but those games were at the Snake Pit in Mt Carmel.
