The South Central Cougars hosted conference rival North Clay to Lions Field in Kinmundy. The Cardinals led 1-0 in the top of the sixth when they exploded for 5 runs in the frame. Jack Compton doubled scoring 2 runs and Cayden Craig hit a big 3-run homer to help North Clay improve to 17-6 while SC falls to 6-13. Sebastian Kruger and Colton Tockstein had the hits for SC. Compton was the winning pitcher for John Frech’s Cardinals going all 7 allowing the 2 hits and struck out 8.
