The Roxana Shells ran 15 first-half plays, and scored 33 points on their way to a 33-0 halftime lead and ultimately a 46-7. The Shells tailback duo of Shorter and Crumb combined for 14 carries for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns. Trey Clark rushed 18 times for 66 yards as the Shells defense was stifling. Andrew Greene scored a late second half touchdown to put Salem on the board. The Cats are 2-3 and 1-1 in the Cahokia Conference with a trip to 4-1 Breese Central next week after the Cougars routed Wood River last night 63-0.
Also in the Cahokia, Freeburg edged Columbia 23-14.
The Centralia Orphans are 4-1 after opening up the South 7 conference with a nice road win at Carbondale 35-23. Mt Vernon edged Althoff 29-28.
