The Salem Police Department arrested a 38-year-old Sandoval man on multiple drug charges after being called Friday morning to investigate a man sleeping in a car in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of South Franklin.
Police say John Ferguson of Pope Road woke up and got out of the vehicle, allegedly dropping a drug pipe and syringe with what field-tested as methamphetamine to the ground. His car was then searched, and three narcotic pills were found without prescriptions.
As a result, Ferguson was arrested for possession of five to 15 grams of methamphetamine, three counts of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The incident occurred around seven Friday morning.
