The Marion County Relay for Life is Saturday night at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
It’s the 40th year for the local relay and the theme is ‘Cheers to 40 Years’.
The event will be held at the Marion County Fairgrounds. Survivor registration and the opening of fund raising booths will be at four pm. The Survivor Lap, Caregiver Lap and Tam Lap are at five. The luminaria ceremony is at seven and the closing ceremony at eight pm.

Committee Member Sheila Mulvany says some of the proceeds from the Relay event assist local cancer patients. She notes during 2024, 16 cancer patients received 413 free nights at the Hope Lodge while undergoing treatment at nearby Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Through August this year, 21 cancer patients have utilized 291 free nights of lodging.
