Iuka’s Devan Jennings was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Iuka walked-off on Rome 4-3 to advance to the Region 6 tournament championship. Iuka was down 3-1 after 4 innings but scored one run in each of the last 3 innings to come back and win. Vince Krajefska and Eli Bookhout also drove in runs. Jennings was the winning pitcher working 4.1 allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run. Iuka will advance to today’s championship game in Patoka at 4:30 to take on Patoka/Odin.
The Mohawks advanced with their 12-2 win yesterday over Central City. Dane Jolliff drove in 3 runs and Nolan Eddy added 2 RBI. Noah Cain worked all 6 innings and didn’t allow a hit, struck out 4 and allowed no earned runs.
In Region 7, Summersville is in the finals after a 15-0 win over Wayne City. They will play Ewing Northern after their 16-6 win over Bluford/Farmington.
