The Franklin Park Bobcats avoided the rain and won their Class L Regional opener at home over Carlyle 14-3 as Salem scored 9 runs in the opening inning. Eli Purdy went 2-2 with 3 RBI and 3 Runs scored hitting 2 doubles. Emit Gibson, EJ Wolfe and Ben Lux added 2 RBI. Dakota Gregg drove in a run along with Easton Keller and Nolan Krutsinger. Gibson was the winning pitcher going all 5 innings allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs with 8 strikeouts.
