The Salem volleyball team is at Mt Vernon after their 2nd place trip to the Vandalia Tournament over the weekend.
South Central was 4th at the Vandalia Tournament. They went 2-1 in pool play with wins over Wood River and Vandalia and a loss to eventual champion Hillsboro. They lost in the 3rd place match to Carlyle and are 5-11 on the season.
Cisne won the Flora Round Robin tournament. Edwards County won the Massac County Superman Classic behind tournament MVP Grace Bishop.
Mascoutah hosted their 2nd annual outdoor volleyball shootout on Saturday. The weather played havoc with the schedule with just one set of the opening match being played outside before the weather moved action inside. Columbia beat Nashville in straight sets, the KC v. SWIC game was canceled, and Mascoutah fell to Mater Dei in 3 sets in the late game.
