Wamac Fest is this Saturday at the Wamac Park.
Mayor Butch Mathus, Jr. says there is something for everyone.
“We’ll have a bunch of kids games that will be coordinated by the boy scouts and cub scouts in the area,” Mathus said. “We’ll have the Wamac Little Toot train there. As always, the Timmons family will be cooking up the Wamac famous barbecue pork steaks. We’ll have brats, hot dogs, and pulled pork. Of course, we’ll have soda provided by the Central City Lions, and funnel cakes and corn dogs provided by the Centralia Masonic Lodge.”
Mathus says there will be four different musical acts.
“Kenny Ray Productions (will open). After that it will be Joel Young. Then we have the Los Reyes Mariachi Band, sponsored by Fats Tavern in Sandoval. Closing out will be the One and Only.”
Mathus says the hours of Wamac Fest are three to eleven pm. All proceeds go to improvements to the Wamac City Park.
