The Salem Wildcats soccer team made it 9 straight wins and remained undefeated at the new Salem Soccer Complex following their 5-2 win over Mt Vernon.

Salem scored first on a penalty kick from Eli Baker, his 25th of the season.  They made it 2-0 when Austin Woolridge found the back of the net later in the first half.

Mt Vernon would answer with the first two goals of the second half, but Salem continued to push not showing any signs of being tired as they put the pedal down and scored the next 3 goals to finish the game strong.

Baker finished with 2 (26), Caleb Purintun played great and had 2 goals as well.

The Rams nearly scored again with Salem’s goalie coming off his line to make a play, but the ball was put past him. Defender Avery Gullion flew down and cleared the ball off the line before it went in.

Salem is right back in action this afternoon at the Complex when they take on Wesclin.
