The St. Mary’s-Willow Grove Wildcards closed out the regular season with a 16-4 victory over the Ashley-Tamaroa Howling Tribe on Wednesday night. Amare Billberry got the win, throwing a complete game. The offense was led by Bennet Edwards, who was 3-4 with 2 RBIs, and Griffin Knowles, who was 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Rebel Mathis also added 4 RBIs on 2 hits. The Wildcards start regional play Friday evening against the Rome Hornets.

Kru Cain had 3 hits in 4 at bats as Patoka/Odin beat Central City on the Citians 8th Grade Day 12-0.  Hunter Hyde drove in 3 runs on 3 hits.  Nolan Eddy added 2 hits.  Central City honored 8th graders, Kendall Murray, Bryler Etheridge, Logan Williams, Landyn Baker, and Kolton Cook.

Also in middle school baseball, Dieterich 9-5 over North Clay, Ewing routed Rome 17-2, Flora 11-1 over Cisne, Mt Vernon nipped Herrin 9-8 and St Anthony beat Sacred Heart 12-2.

Franklin Park is at home with Centralia.
