The Salem Lady Bobcats lost to Olney 15-6 on 8th grade day in Salem. Bre Pennypacker and McKinleigh Parker had all the hits for Salem. Macy Canon was on base all 4 times, Pennypacker drove in 2 runs with Brinn Detmer and Emma Hawley adding RBI.
Selmaville honored their 8th graders before beating a scrappy Patoka Mohawks squad 6-2. Alana Howe was 1-3 with a triple and 2 runs scored. She also stole a base, which tied her for the single season record set in 2023 by Shelby Johnson. Gabby Goostree tripled and scored, Gia Ward drove in a run and scored twice. Goostree struck out 9 and didn’t walk anyone in the win. She allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs. For Patoka, Mabree Phelps was very good in the circle giving up just one hit and no earned runs in over six innings and struck out 7. She added an RBI along with Jessa Thalman. Selmaville will head to Woodlawn tomorrow. Patoka will head to Central City today.
Kenzie Collier drove in 4 runs on 3 hits, 2 of them doubles, to help Iuka beat Bethel 22-2.
Also, Mt Vernon 19-5 over spring Garden, Rome beat St Mary Mt Vernon 14-8, Summersville beat Waltonville 7-3.
