Salem Applefest drew a big crowd to the Marion County Fairgrounds on Saturday.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jessiycka Coleman says the heat didn’t appear to stop people from coming out.
“It has actually maybe brought out more people today,” Coleman said. “We’re really excited. The crowd has been very friendly, very excited to get out. Even with the higher temperatures, it’s not a high humidity. People are excited to get out and celebrate fall.”
There were about 100 vendors, including 14 food trucks to visit. Coleman says some new food trucks as well as some new vendors probably attracted the most entrance.
She hopes to have an attendance estimate in the next few days.
