The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that pavement evaluations on U.S. 50 and Illinois 37 in Marion County will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 16, weather permitting.
The work will require intermittent daytime lane closures at the following locations:
- U.S. 50 from Metcalf Road to the Clay County line
- Illinois 37 from Madison Street to 0.4 miles south of Cross Street in Kinmundy
Work on U.S. 50 will be completed prior to beginning pavement evaluations on Illinois 37.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
