The Salem Wildcats soccer team has won 7 straight games after their season opening loss at Murphysboro. The latest win came at the Salem Soccer Complex, where they still have yet to lose, with an 8-1 win over Breese Central. Eli Baker scored 4 goals to lead the Cats. Also scoring were Robby Shober, Caleb Purintun, Nate Lowry and Holden Richardson. Salem will look to stay unbeaten in Cahokia play Saturday morning with a 9 a.m. kickoff at Freeburg.
Also in soccer action, Altamont beat Wesclin 5-1, Effingham 3-0 over Mt Zion, Nashville shutout Centralia 2-0.
