Salem Police say both drivers refused hospital treatment following a crash on West Main at the entrance to Circle K that occurred during the heavy traffic caused by the closure of I-57 for accident cleanup.
Police report Lisa Gossett of Charleston made a left-hand turn from Circle K and collided with an eastbound pickup pulling a trailer driven by 64-year-old Dwayne Brink of Nashville, Illinois. Gossett’s view of the pickup in the passing lane was blocked by a semi in the driving lane.
Gossett was ticketed for failure to yield when turning left.
The crash occurred at 8:32 Thursday morning.
