Marion County Treasurer Gary Purcell has completed the first distribution of the Marion County Real Estate Taxes (2024 payable 2025) to Marion County Taxing Bodies. A total of $26,294,407 was distributed.   School districts received the majority of the money, with nearly $14.7 million distributed.   Cities and villages received nearly $2.3 million, Kaskaskia College nearly $1.9 million, the county general fund, IMRF and Tort $1.7 million, fire districts $1.3 million, township road and bridge districts $1.1 million and township governments $789,000.   The various tax increment financing districts received $858,781 that will go into the districts to provide incentives for development.

The second installment of real estate taxes (2024, payable in 2025) is due on September 25, 2025. Payments may be made at the Marion County Courthouse, most Financial Institutions, by mail, online at ILmarion.com, or at the drop box located on the West side of the Courthouse.
