Purdy Leads Bobcats Over Aviston
The Franklin Park Bobcats beat visiting Aviston 4-1. Eli Purdy had 2 doubles and drove in a run along with Emit Gibson and EJ Wolfe. Salem outhit Aviston 5-3. Tanner Purintun as the winning pitcher going 6.2 allowing 3 hits and struck out 5. Wolfe got the final out. Franklin Park hosts Vandalia.
Gullion’s Big Day Leads SC Over Patoka/Odin
The Patoka/Odin Mohawks will travel to Sandoval for middle school baseball. Patoka is coming off a walk-off loss to South Central. Ryker Lane drove in the winning run for the Falcons. Jayden Gullion had a big day for SC, he drove in 2 runs in the fifth to tie the game, and came up with the bases loaded and his team down by 3 in the final inning he doubled home all three to tie it before Lane’s heroics. Ben Skibinski, Tucker Mette and Lane had 2 RBI each. For Patoka/Odin, Dane Jolliff and Nolan Eddy had 4 hits each, Eddy drove in 5 and Hunter Hyde added 4 RBI.
Wildcards Win In Walk Off
St Mary/Willow Grove improved to 3-2 with a 13-12 win over Rome. The game was tied at 12 in the bottom of the 7th. After a walk, Griffin Knowles stole his way home to end the game. Brody Kasban had the win in relief. Benett Edwards had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Kasban also had 2 hits and drove in a run. Beckett Wethington drove in a run for the Wildcards.
Citians Earn Win Over Iuka In Final At Bat
Central City walked off to beat Iuka 8-7 after trailing by a run heading into their final at bat. In the loss, Devan Jennings and Hosea Weems drove in 2 runs each. Bo Goewey had 2 hits and 2 RBI for the Citians.
