The Salem Wildcats dropped their soccer season opener at a very talented Murphysboro 5-3. Salem got goals from Robbie Shober, Payton Gullion and Eli Baker in the loss.
The Wildcats soccer team will open up defense of their Greenville Tournament title when they play tonight against Pinckneyville. They will take on Lebanon and the host Panthers on Thursday and Saturday to finish up tournament play.
Also in prep soccer, Althoff shutout Breese Central 9-0, Freeburg 8-2 over Mt Vernon, Hillsboro shutout Altamont 5-0, Massac County 7-0 over Greenville, Roxana beat Valmeyer 7-0.
