Two people were injured in a rollover pickup truck crash in rural Vernon early Saturday morning.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports a 16-year-old male juvenile from Walnut Hill was traveling westbound on the 1400 block of Burks Road when he failed to navigate a turn and ran off the north side of the road. The truck hit a dirt bank, ran into a tree, and overturned.
The juvenile driver was taken to Patoka School, where an Air Evac Helicopter took him to a St. Louis Hospital.
A 17-year-old Centralia juvenile male, who was a passenger, was taken to the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment.
The crash was reported at 12:53 Saturday morning after a neighbor reported hearing a crash and then a scream.
