The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department reports a 54-year-old Mt. Vernon man wanted on a warrant charging child pornography has been arrested by Palatine Police and returned to the Jefferson County Jail.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says the investigation of David Edwards began following a cyber tip provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. It included multiple search warrants for electronic devices, data, and eventually a search warrant for Edwards’ home in Mt. Vernon.
The search warrants resulted in collection and seizure of multiple items of evidence. The information was forwarded to the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office for review, which led to the issuance of the arrest warrant.
