Kinmundy has purchased a new $25,000 pump for its sewer lift station at the end of Second Street.
One of the pumps failed earlier and could not be repaired. A backup pump was put into service and now needs to be replaced to assure the lift station can remain operational at all times. The pump will be purchased from Municipal Equipment.
The board also agreed to purchase $312 in materials to rebuild the 4th Street wooden pedestrian bridge to replace the current bridge that is falling apart. City workers will build the new bridge.
The board was told the public works department was able to purchase a used side by side for $6,000, well under the $9,000 maximum they had been given for the purchase.
