The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 12-1 loss at South Central yesterday. For Salem, Macy Canon, Kaylee Carroll and Skylar Gaston pitched. Carroll had 2 hits and McKinleigh Parker also singled.
For SC, Claire Chasteen and Alexa Gile drove in 3 runs each as SC scored 9 times in the 3rd inning to break the game open. SC also got RBI from Lexy Garrett, Bella McDowell and Jayda Neilson. Chasteen was the winning pitcher with Skylar Webster throwing in relief.
Salem will open up their home scheduled today at 4:15 when they host DuQuoin.
Also in softball action, Nashville dominated Aviston 15-0, Mt Vernon St Mary beat Central City 23-0 and Pinckneyville lost to Trico 15-7.
