One person went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries following a two-vehicle crash at Broadway and Locust in Centralia early Wednesday evening.
Centralia Police say a pickup truck driven by 83-year-old Ruth Sutherland of Johnson Road in Iuka ran a stop light while westbound on Broadway and struck a westbound car on Locust Street driven by 47-year-old Carrisa Pate of North Hickory in Centralia. Reports indicate the front right fenders of the two vehicles collided.
Pate went to St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia by private vehicle for treatment.
Sutherland was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance.
The crash occurred at 5:15 Wednesday evening.
