A 33-year-old Kinmundy man has been ordered detained without bond after being charged in Marion County Court on Monday with eight felony charges in connection with sex acts allegedly committed since October 2023 with a girl under the age of 17.
The charges against Daniel Belfiore of 1st Street include six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for improper touching. Another count charges indecent solicitation of a child with the intent that an act of aggravated criminal sexual assault be committed. The final charge is for grooming where Belfiore is accused of using a computer on-line service in an attempt to seduce, solicit, lure or entice the child to engage in any unlawful sexual conduct.
The alleged victim is described as a family friend, with the sex acts allegedly occurring at both Belfiore’s home and the alleged victim’s home.
Belfiore’s request for a public defender was denied. A first appearance with attorney was set for August 20th. A preliminary hearing was set for September 3rd at nine am.
