Two people are being held in the Marion County Jail following separate arrests on Saturday for alleged domestic battery. 46-year-old Emanuel Neal of Cormick Street in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police. 28-year-old Tyler Davison of Bement was arrested by sheriff’s deputies.
Salem Police arrested 38-year-old Holly Creamer of Camp Street in Iuka on outstanding Marion and Clinton County misdemeanor warrants. She is being held without bond pending an appearance in court.
52-year-old William Phillips of Salem was arrested by Salem Police for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released on a notice to appear in court.
60-year-old Jay Stewart of Isle Street in Sandoval was arrested by Sandoval Police for driving on a revoked license. He was also give a notice to appear in court.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two reported burglaries to a home and garage on Lowery Lane in rural Salem. Tools valued at $1,000 and a large fan are reported missing.
The Salem Fire Protection District was called out twice on Saturday. The first call was to Rusty Nail at 2039 West Main where a fire alarm sounded around ten am. The problem turned out to be a burned breakfast, but there was no actual fire. The second call was to I-57 at mile marker 117 Southbound where a fire had spread in natural cover for 400 to 500 feet. The fire was extinguished without any damage. That call came in at 2:50 Saturday afternoon.
