Marion County Clerk Steve Fox says petitions can be circulated beginning Tuesday for offices up for election in the March 17th primary.
The Clerk’s Office will have petition packets available in room 202 starting Tuesday morning.
Offices up for election at the local level are County Clerk, Sheriff and Treasurer. All five county board districts have seats open. They include two seats in District #2, #4, and #5 and one seat in District #1 and #3. Democratic and Republican party precinct committeepersons are also up for election.
The petition filing period is October 27th to November 3rd in the Marion County Clerk’s Office, room 202, at the courthouse from 8 am to 4 pm Monday thru Friday.
