Salem Public Works Director Travis Sanders has announced the city will begin replacing natural gas service lines to about 70 homes on the northwest side beginning Thursday.
The streets involved are Roddy Road, West Spruce Street, Ohio Avenue, Illinois Avenue, West Main Street and Pine Street.
Sanders notes the natural gas mains in those areas were replaced earlier, but not the service lines.
Individual customers will only be impacted on the day their service line is replaced.
The work is expected to take about a month to complete.
